Background
The CVL Research Grants were established in 1999 as part of Pfizer Australia's long-standing commitment to clinical research.
The CVL Research Grants program seeks to encourage medical graduates in Australia who have embarked on research (or have returned to research after an appropriate break) within the last five years.
The program has been designed to promote excellence in medical research throughout Australia. It will help develop the best of our young clinical researchers and extend their already notable contribution to medicine and the health of our community.
Areas of research eligible for funding
The CVL Australian Physicians Independent Committee has been established to consider proposals for clinical research across the broad field of cardiovascular disease, stroke and lipid disorders including, but not necessarily confined to:
• lipid disorders and their
management
• health outcomes
• epidemiology/compliance studies
• clinical studies in women and the elderly
• hypertension/lipid disorders
• coronary disease, arrhythmias
• unstable angina
• myocardial infarction
• cerebrovascular disease and stroke
• diabetic dyslipidaemias
• obesity and lipid disorders
• familial dyslipidaemias
The proposals should exclusively involve clinical research in humans.
