IMPORTANT MESSAGE: 2008 CVL Grants

Applications for 2008 CVL Grants have now closed.
The APIC will review applications in the last quarter of 2008.

All applicants, successful or not, will be notified in writing towards the end of each calendar year. To find out how to apply or get more information, visit the links on this website.

Applications are now sought for the 2008 CardioVascular Lipid Research Grants (CVL). Pfizer Australia will allocate AUD$800,000 in 2008 to this initiative as part of their continued commitment to cardiovascular research in this country.

The CVL Research Grants were established in 1999 to support clinical research into cardiovascular disease or related therapeutic areas. They are open to Australian medical graduates who have entered the field of research (or returned after an appropriate break) within the last five years. Funding for CVL Research Grants will be up to AUD$55,000 (including GST). Each grant is for 12 months.

All applications are reviewed initially by two independent expert referees. The final decision is then made by the Australian Physicians Independent Committee (APIC), composed of twelve leading specialists.

Applications for 2008 CVL Research Grants closed 23 May 2008.

'High quality clinical research is vital to improving health in Australia. Pfizer is to be congratulated in maintaining this substantive initiative to support research by 'emerging' clinical scientists with a view to reducing the burden of cardiovascular disease and diabetes.'
